Seeing how on the '83 we could not put the cnap ring in, and the setup of the Ball joints that both tapers go the same way, we decided to put a tack weld on the bottom joint, I know they are pressed in, but IMHO with both joints tapers pressing in the same direction this is just an added safety prec
