PIPES (piperazine-N,N′-bis(2-ethanesulfonic acid)) is a frequently used buffering agent in biochemistry. It is an ethanesulfonic acid buffer developed by Good et al. in the 1960s.

    Misc. Grrr. Stupid plastic coolant pipes.

    Darn plastic coolant elbows from the coolant manifold to the heater hoses broke on Mother's Buick 3.8l. Replaced with aluminum ones. Had to pull the alternator and the serpentine idler. Plastic! Uggg!
