hey everyone, with the help of people on the forum i went from the buying a cj forum to the build forum haha, picked up a 1980 CJ5 , has a AMC 304 and a 4 speed. it runs drives and sorta stops. thats about all it does. tomorrow im going to start digging into him, weather pending "its been pretty nasty in NY for a few days" he has some bad gas in him right now, so im going to run some good gas with a booster wile working on him to clear it out, i was going to start with the wiring, i ordered a color diagram on ebay, should be here soon. i have a spare dash from a 78 with all wires still connected, the PO hacked up the wiring in him "guess he wanted to give me somehting to do" i was planning on just pulling the whole dash out and wiring in the spare unchopped harness, this is going to be a daily driver in about 2 weeks when i can put him on the road, so i want to get him in driving shape for starters, i have to get the wipers going, turn signals, heat, and stop making the headlights go off as they please, thought i'd post up on my start, any advice before i dig in would be awesome, i have alot of parts for him, im going to be doing a tub swap in a few months " have a clean tub off a 78", right now just have to get him to be a ok driver, im going to take lots of pics before, during and after on everyhting i do, and i will post everyhting useful i find/do to help others :) gotta say, im pretty excited about this, i know its going to be a lot of hard work, but one step at a a time and i'll get there! thanks! justin
