1983 Jeep CJ7 6 cylinder, 4 speed, Dana 300

If it has a really low 1st gear then yes- great tranny.

Most likely its not unless it was swapped in. It also doesnt nessacarily have to have the granny low to be a T-18 . The granny low is like 6.32. Jeep also used a T-18 with a 4.?? 1st also. The T-176 is the best Transmission . of the 80s era. Thats whats in my Scrambler and the salvage CJ7 . They are good enough to handle stock 8cyl. power and are great behind the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l 6 cyl.
would this be the T-18 Transmission ??

The T-176 is a top loader and the SR4 was not. It would be a quick way to tell. I had the T-176 behind my 6 cylinder and wheeled the hell out of it. Great Transmission for that motor.

IMHO the easiest way is going to be to look at the Transmission shifter stick, all three transmissions have very different sticks.
