Just bought my first jeep a couple of weeks ago. I have Limited mechanical knowledge and experience (I can change my own oil), but want to learn a lot more. I figured the CJ5 would make a great guinea pig.

What can I do to draw more power out of the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l with Mopar MPI? Sorry if that's a dumb question, but I have to learn somehow.

4.0 head get's good bang for the buck and allows for using a stock 4.0 exhaust header.

There is quite a bit of info on the head swap, did you get yours new or from the yard?

I also read that you can run into spacing issues if you have power steering. Did you run into this when doing your swap?

Clearwater heads "ready to run" unit and yes you need to modify you pump mount but not a big deal.

Interested in this... I've got the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l in my 86' CJ7 that needs new rings and been looking for options for this winter while I have it opened up.
