1975 Jeep CJ-5. mostly stock 304 with a few ignition system upgrades, carb, and headers. Stock front and rear diffs, xfer case and xmsn. 6 inch lift on 35x12.50's.
I've been looking for a set of shorty headers for a while now and learned that the only set (that I could find had been discontinued by Edlebrock). Well I recently learned that Patriot has recently made another set. They are ceramic coated and appear to be built well. This might be common knowledge but I figured I'd pass the Intel along anyway. Oh and I think summit racing may be the only distributer.

Those look really cool. My headers more or less wrap all around the starter and all that heat can't be good for the electronics. Also mine required the ever so common header pipe dent to allow the lower steering rod to pass by. Where does the driver side header dump and do they make a set that allow the emissions air pump spiders to attach? I drilled and attached a set of Chevy V8 spiders on mine.

As of now I do not believe they make a set with the air pump attachments, I think the options are raw and ceramic. My outside the frame headers required the same dent to clear the steering shaft but these ones look like they might clear ( il let you know when my new flaming river steering colum arrives). As for where they dump the drivers side is straight down about 3 inches behind the motor mount.

Clutch linkage problems?

With that year CJ, do you still have to get it smogged? I am really not against the smog pump as it does blow air on the valves.

Not really sure if it would have any clutch linkage problems, I'm going hydraulic so it won't be a issue for me. As for smog it's a 75 so don't need smog in CA or any sort of inspection. Since this jeep in still not much more than drivetrain and frame I can't be very helpful with clearances right now; however, follow my build thread and there will be more to come. :chug:

Im putting a 360 in a CJ and have the same headers. One small issue noted is if your running ARP head bolts there is a small clearance issue. I need to grind just a but off the flange so it will sit all the way down.

I just picked up the novak to T-176 conversion kit for hydraulic clutch and it fits pretty awesome. Ill post a pic later when photo bucket decides to act right.

Pictures of that would be awesome, as I plan to use theirs as well.
