304 V8 intake manifold gasket?

I'm getting ready to install the intake after rebuild. Can I use a bead of RTV in place of the rubber gaskets where the ends of the manifold meets the block? Any special precautions to take when installing the big sheet metal gasket?

I just installed mine on my AMC 304 . The directions that came with it says you can use rtv sealant in place of the rubber seals. I chose to use the seals though. Directions also said to install the rear portion first then the front being careful not to slide the gasket in smearing the rtv everywhere. It's hard to bend it in there but she will go. Wear gloves cause the metal gasket can be sharp on the edges.

seems like every motor I have put together the end gaskets dont fit, clean, clean, clean and you should be just fine

Well, I'm on my second try!! Didn't realize a flange on the gasket outer 4 bolts locates it to the head. Pinched one of them.
