Does anyone know where I can find the measurements for the flywheels used in the AMC 360s. I want to run a 4.0 Transmission with a 360 but from what i understand the 4.0 flywheels are 1 inch thick(I think) and the 360s are a little larger?? I have seen posts on google that suggest that later 360s may have a one inch fly wheel. If anyone knows I'd appreciate the help other wise I may have to find a shop to modify a 4.0 wheel to balance out like a 360

Since you dont seem to be getting the responses here, you might drop a line to Bulltear. Im sure MC has the answer you're looking for. He knows those things inside and out.
I've talked with him on the phone several times and he is very helpful.

Someone must have this exact answer. My memory tells me my 360 flywheel is more like 3/4" thick, but the back is not machined flat. It has a center hub design with a radiused rear web. Of course, the front is flat with a recessed area for the mounting bolts and the starter ring pressed on the outside.

The total thickness from the crank to the front surface may be a full 1" approximately. Is this what you are looking for? I guess you are trying to figure out the bellhousing depth, pilot bushing engagement, and pressure plate clearance?

Good Luck with your project.

LOL I would be the one to have the answer as I just installed an NV3550 on the back of a 360. The 360 flywheel is thick I made a .25" thick spacer so that I could keep the 3550 hydulic clutch and throwout bearing with the clutch from the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l /360 and used the pilot bearing from the 4.0, If the throwout bearing wasnt so freaging long I wouldnt even have to use a spacer :chug:
