Is it possible to bolt the 4.0 to a Tf 999 without an adapter plate? Found a 4.0 that I was thinking of putting in the Scrambler but I would need it to work with the Cj auto I want.

the motor will bolt right up to the trany, but you'll need to make a window for the crank sensor, and find a fly wheel that will work. I'm pretty sure the 42RE trany flywheel from a wrangler will work.

thats pretty much what I was going to say.:D

I decided against it being it wasnt fuel injected. Pretty much killed my biggest gain.

4.0s,258s,360s,401s and everything in between from amc (I4 excluded) should have the same engine to BH pattern just I 6s are nuetral balance flywheel and v8s are external. If you didnt want to edit the BH for CPS you could buy the CPS relocator from hesco$$$$$$$$
