Hi all,

Bought a '69 CJ5 in OK shape. It was built by Kaiser of Canada.

Heres my question!

Besides the stock gas tank under the drivers seat, it has two gas tanks installed in the rear fender wells with the access spouts coming out the top side of the fenders. They appear to be welded in, a very clean job.

Has anyone seen this before? and were these factory options?

Thanks.

Those fender well tanks are not oem and do sound a bit dangerous if they are welded in and might fatigue and crack with body flex.

First off, :ww:From Texas. Glad to have you here!

Secondly, don't tell many people that your CJ was made in Canada. They told me all the ones from Canada had to be returned! They better bring some boxes to take mine back in:D

:)Chef.........one tank under the drivers seat was stock.........most guys that added an extra tank to an early CJ used one out of the AMC mid 70's built Jeeps with the tank centered under the rear frame forward of the rear bumper, requires taking a few brace's out to make room.........the spout would normally either exit to the rear passenger side fender panel or out the back above the taillights .............take some pictures of those fuel tanks , love to see what the PO did.
