Just couldn't find a set of rock rails/sliders that I liked. My jeep tube is fiberglass so hooking to the tub is not an option. So decided to build a set . I started with 1.20 wall DOM tubing. I liked the 1 1/2" diameter so I used that size. Neighbor is a really good tube bender-so he bent me a set of outer bars. The lower straight bar is 43 " long and that length looked good between the flares. I really did not like the idea of just attaching to the frame, another buddy gave me a good idea. The rear and middle out riggers have a vertical tube that goes through the floor and attaches to the cage bar that runs from the front to the middle cage loop legs. The front out rigger is welded inside what appears to be unused body mount supports (1/8 thick on top and both sides, and, about 10" long-worked great super strong). I tested it with my high lift-picked the jeep right up-not even a hint flex/movement in the rails. Bring on the rocks!

NICE!!!! I'm really feeling inferior with my lame Nerf Bars! I really wish I had the money and room for a arc welder. :)

I am not a "trained" welder, but, I can tell you my Miller 210 has probably paid for itself 2 times over. There are some nice Migs that run on regular 120 volt. Buy one when you can, watch some how to videos-not too tough....although, my welds are not going to win any trade shows...they do hold though! Thanks for the kudos!

Good job looks like it should do the job and looks nice :notworthy:

those do look good. May I suggest some non slip stair tread tape on the top where you will be putting your foot to get in and out? I am not going to go into why I recommend this, it is a bit embarrassing.

ahhhh...great minds think alike. Agree and JUST finished applying the no slip tape. Bought it at Lowes. Guarantee you I would jump on the bar and probably land on the hood....a roll was only $7.00 and I got enough to replace it a couple of times. Good idea and I agree 100%
