I am at the point I need to finish my full steel doors. All that is left to do is buy new seals, interior panels, window cranks, check straps, and outer handles.

I learned from reading on here that the fixed vent window seals are impossible to find. Since the originals looked pretty good, I kept them and plan to re-use them. Now, What else do i need? These doors came to me partially stripped already.

I think I need:

Full door seal
outer glass scrubber
inner glass scrubber
glass edge seal? (the seal that goes in the door tract for the glass)

Is that it? What am I missing? Anyone have a good source for these? I checked Quadratec and they state they have them but I am always leary of buying from them for my '76 CJ7 because their descriptions claim parts will fit but then I get them and half the time they don't - they are made for later 7s.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Here's a couple pics of how "Charlie" sits now 4.5 years later :D few things to tie up here and there but I'm close!

When I refurbed my doors a couple of years ago I got all of the weatherstripping from J C Whitney. It was all good quality stuff and it fit well, everything except the vent windows :)

The interior panels are a little trickier to find, I don't think anyone makes reproductions of the '76-81 interior panels. I ended up buying mine used off of ebay. The new panels are easier to find, but they're different.

Exterior door handles are easy to find, the interior latch mechanism is not. Again, don't think anyone makes those anymore. Check straps come with a footman loop, it's the piece that is bolted to the tub that is sometimes tricky to find. Again, may have to find them used.

I think that's it. Keep up the good work, "Charlie" is looking good :chug:

Fortunately the interior handles work great as does the window. I have the original crank and outer door handles but they look bad. Since the outer handles do function, I may try to paint or powder coat them black to match the Jeep. If they turn out like arse, I will just buy new ones.

I figured as much about the interior panels... I may make my own. I also have the body mounts with the check strap pin on it as well as the footman loop on the doors so I should be good to go with just the check strap. My main concern was the interior panels and seals.

I will check out JC Whitney. I appreciate the help!
