does anyone one know if a speedometer from a '76 CJ5 will work in a '67 CJ5 ?
do the cables attach in the same way? i know the actual gauge is basically the same, i just need to know if it will work.. i also believe i need the whole cable assembly..(i have a tachometer instead of a speedometer)

I've never had anybody drive my rig to get a sticker.

Their right technically, it's suppose to work. They don't drive the rig though so it if looks good it does not matter.:D

haha, very true.. but where i live, they drive around to the back of the building for the inspection... therefore.. they check it..at least i assume they look at it. haha

Yes, but most towns have more than one establishment that performs inspections. I'm not tiring to talk you out of fixing it. I was just saying it was never a priority with me. Most vehicles speedometer are off from 2-10 mph anyway, then there is the problem with oversized tires. The tachometer method is often more accurate.
