Vehicle(s)
1970 CJ5, V6, 3spd, power steering, headers, electric fans, upgraded larger radiator, '78 grill, disc brakes (front only), swing pedals, hyd clutch, extended front shock mounts, upgraded front driveline w larger u-joints, warn OD, D30 front diff, lockers, 2100 carb, working on a '74 tub replacement, '78 windshield frame with '78+ Acme hardtop
Has anyone else done this? I want to run the larger radiator the '78 grill can accommodate, gets warm here in AZ. I sit the '78 grill on my '69 and everything looks good except the lower center mount. It is too high (the mount on front cross-member) and the radiator has to sit higher in the grill opening as the bottom of the rad sits atop the cross-member. Before I start cutting I would like to hear what others have done.

Thanks,

You'll have to make a new crossmember (grill support), after that it's a pretty straight forward swap.

If you are still running the stock 69 Radiator , you might just consider upgrading to the newer Aluminum versions with a proper shroud and fan...........that cooling problem will go away.
