79 T150 Trans & Transfer case grease

Read somewhere that the T-150 Transmission synchronizers does not like the G5 gear oil, heard it would wear them out, any truth to this? If so, what should I use? Doing a frame off restoration and dont want any trouble. Thanks in advance...

GL5 will eat away at your yellow metals the big difference between the GL5 and GL4 is the PH and sulfur content.

I use Stalube GL4 for my T-18 , I buy it from my local Napa store.

GL5 for the Transfer Case is fine there is no yellow metals there.
