83 cj7 in need of carburetors

hey guys,

i got a 83 CJ7 with a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l inline 6. just got it a few months ago and drive it a little while until i realized it needed a new intake gastket, valve cover gasket, and after weeks of trial and error i realized i need a new carburetor. the guy i bought it off of put a cheap knock off 4 barrel weber on it. im lookin to go with a 2 barrel holly but dont know what to get or what kinda kit i would need to change it. what do you suggest? thanks

buy a adaptor and put a motorcraft 2100 on it. i love mine.

all ive found for a 2100 are the ones that fit up to 77. nothing for an 83

Doesn't matter what year it says it's for a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l is a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l . You will just have to do away with some smog on yours that they didn't have pre 77.

I've heard some bad storys on this guy.A friend of mine had real bad luck with them.They have a thread on this guy in the jeepforum.com

There's a forum member Banjerman here or something like that who's a friend of mine..He had nothing but trouble with this guy.Basically from what I got if there good there good but when there bad you get no help from him.He deletes the bad replys.Anyway when they start a thread on a forum about him it can't be good.
