I cant seem to find a similar issue in my searches.

My turn sigs worked great after I restored this CJ 3 years ago. The other day I noticed that they stopped working. No issues before. They just stopped.

Details:
If my headlight switch is in the off position I have no sigs, but emergency blinkers work fine.

If my Headlight switch is fully on with running lights I have no sigs, but emergency blinkers work fine.

If my Headlight switch is fully on and I depress my break the break lights come on. If I engage my signal either side with breaks engaged the break light turns off on either side im engaging. With no light illuminating while engaged.

-----

I have replaced the blinker (at fuse box). I have replaced all bulbs. I have replaced fuses. I have checked grounds. I am asking here if anyone has had a similar issue before I go into the column to replace the operator switch. Am I missing anything outside of replacing the column switch?

Thank you for your time.
Keith

Did you check/change the headlight switch itself?
They can easily burn with strange symptoms...

Welcome to the forum!
A bit more detail please.:D Our 54 CJ3b has the turn signal mounted on the column. It is a completely separate unit from the rest of the column, and if memory serves me correctly, this unit is not tied to the headlights at all. From your description, it sounds like you don't have the original steering column. Is this correct? If you don't have the original column and turn signal switch, what column are you using? I don't know if I will have the answer for you, but everyone else here will need this info in order to help you.

You might try running a jumper cable from the ground wire off the headlight switch to the battery negative terminal. The headlight switch is normally grounded to the dash which does have a poor connection there. Some guys just add a ground wire from the battery to the back of the dash somewhere.

I apologize for the delay in responding. For some reason after I posted the question I could no longer log in. Had to make a new one.

Update: The issue was solved.

I did replace the turn switch in the column, but that did not solve the issue, after I had replaced everything possible, and checking grounds I decided to go behind the dash and start tracing wires. What I found was the flasher that is in the fuse box is for hazards. I saw a empty area where the turn sig flasher should be. So I searched behind the dash. I actually found the turn flasher hidden in the harness tucked away out of sight. Not sure why it was not in the fuse box, or if someone moved it, or was factory placement. Either way I got another flasher and installed it. Everything is back to norm.

Thanks for the reply's. :chug:
