A CK and food stamps?

So this person drives up yesterday in a CK and used 200+ in food stamps, and was taken aback when I asked "What the hell are you doing?"

Many others in line chimed in - she left with an empty cart!

WTF are we supporting?

we live in an age of entitlement, and wanna be socialism, this is an example of severe abuse. nobody wants to work for what they have anymore, they want to take it from others, people expect handouts. you done us all a favor on this one.

i don't know how to stop it, you can't do away with all of the social programs because there are people who legitimately need it, and use it the way its supposed to be. but the majority are worthless, lazy, sorry, scum of the earth people, pisses me off too. i don't mind helping my fellow man going through hard times, but hard times can come to an end if your willing to work.

The same for business stay in the US or be taxed f'rs! If other countries can make it cheaper you have more money for taxes! Stay in the states and your taxes are less
Third Monday is a day off to be used for outdoor recreation, that's right go outside to the lazy f'rs!
The rest of us will go jeep!

Love the keep it in the US. Amazed me when the Gov. bailed out the car companies without telling them to bring home the jobs from other countries. GM send another build to Mexico while using the bailout money.

I used to see this a lot when I worked in the grocery business. People would come through a checkstand with things like lobster tails, ribeyes...the expensive stuff and pay for it all with foodstamps.

On more then one occasion I would hear another customer make a remark like "wish I could afford to buy that..."

The solution to the foodstamp problem is to set it up like WIC. Instead of letting people buy whatever the heck they want with taxpayer money, they are told what they can and can not buy with their foodstamps. Beggars cant be choosers the way I see it.

Dont get me wrong, I dont object to food stamps as long as they are used to buy neccesities...and not treated as a luxury pass

you got my vote with this line right here. dems that want to tax the rich and big business do not understand this concept, im not taking up for big business but i understand why they move out of country. you want employers to come back stop taxing the hell out of em. i'd probably move to.

I owned a small business for several years and even as a small business, you are taxed into oblivion. Add employees to that and you fall into another tax catagory.

The Liberal stance on big business is discouraging to small businesses who want to grow. On one hand, they encourage small business growth, and on the other they discourage big business by hiking up the taxes. It makes it a bleak outlook to small businesses.

The main way a business controls cost is through overhead, and unfortunately, employees take a back seat when it comes to cash flow in the lean times. Big business goes out on a limb and moves operations to places they know they dont have to pay big wages. Ethically, this is wrong, but greed is a high motivator.

If the government wants to see better conditions for employees, they need to step back and take a look at what they are doing to the employer.

Part of the reason I got out of business ownership is I couldnt stand to have peoples lives at my control. It's a dirty business left up to a more greedy overlord.

I have owned an independent service facility going on nine years now. Never in those years have I been more concerned about the welfare of mine and my family's well being, than I am today. Our voting right is all we have left. And at the rate the Constitution is being eroded, it won't be much longer until that slips away.....................

speaking of the constitution i am proud of the new congress for taking the time to sit down and read it word for word, i believe it was a long overdue thing. and the a holes that interrupted it should be kicked out. they should make it a twice annual thing to refresh themselves with the constitution that they swore to uphold.

Real fast. But, awareness of the political climate is everyone's civic duty. I am highly politically motivated due to my bussiness and my politically incorrect hobbies. So, I talk a lot of politics with my customers. When they start badgering a certain group, I ask them if the voted. And if they did, I ask them if the contacted their Congressman about the issue. We are all guilty of not being more pro active. So I challenge them to get involved regardless of any party lines.

The Constitution is one of the things I hope / dream we have left. Why do others dismiss it so easily?

AH! that explains that (I was wondering about the CK myself, but didn't want to ask).
I know people that buy food stamps from those that get them thru legit channels for cash. The buyer knows the markets they can shop at without getting carded or ID'ed, so they figure they get a great deal on groceries. The seller gets cash to buy those things that food stamps can't buy. Not always good things, like food or clothes. Thats probably why CJ's girl left with an empty cart, it wasn't worth the questions that could have come up...
I used to work for a guy that would buy $50 or $100 worth of meat every couple weeks from a couple that would take orders, then go shoplift the meat from the grocery store. Did that for many years before I met him, and I am sure for years afterward. They had an entire route they worked every month.
There is a black market for everything. You just have to know who to talk to.
