I am looking at getting a new console for the CJ7 and wondering if anyone has this console installed that may have pictures. My main concern is the cup holders on the front getting in the way of the Dana 300 shifter. It states in the size that it is 27" long. I will be painting it garnet red and redoing the top cushion with some factory garnet red material to match my seats so color is not a big deal.

I want a metal console for security but really dont want to spend a fortune as I don't really keep anything valuble in the console. Just to keep walk by's from being snoopy when I am out.

I dont have pictures or even the jeep anymore but my old older tuffy console cleared the shifter with the cup holders in it. I think I had some wiggle room to mount it slightly forward or back if needed. My current CJ5 has an ammo can so it is not comparable to what you want

Mine is just like that except for the cup holder. My cup holder looks a little different than that. My shifter hit a tall bottle of coke when it's in the cup holder.

if you get one please post up cause ive been looking for a console w/ a stereo slot as my cowl seal has a leak and drips onto the radio and ive looked at this type before.

I got the exact one in my jeep. Clears with no problems between the seats, seat belts, stick shift and the cup holders are big. I love my radio being right where my hand rests while driving so no need to reach forward to change the radio volume etc. Just the matter of extending the wires cleanly along with the antenna using black loom you don't even notice them now. And the box is big. I can fit tons of stuff in there even the wifes purse clothes jackets and all the important things like the winch remote d rings flat tire repair. Even a small compressor. It's an excellent box to have. And the arm rest is very cushiony.
