Had a great time this weekend
we went to camp at Anza Borrego state park, it is a huge park about the size of Rhode Island in the south eastern area of California.
Although just going there and doing trails is fun, this weekend we had a alternative slide on the trip.
I had been invited to get a group of jeeps up and to let the CEOs of a few larger companies ride around with us as we showed off the beauty of the park. It is a fund raiser for a Org that does work for the park. Anyway we decided that unlike the last few years where we brought them around to see wild flowers, we were going to take them up a black diamond trail to an area where the big horn sheep breed and show them the reason we need to buy more land surrounding this area and get it donated to the park.
We had a blast and after all was said and done, over 250 thousand dollars were pledged.
After watching a guy who would normally have someone with a tow truck change his tire, get down under a Land Rover and help hook up a winch line because he wanted to experience it, we finished the climb and brought them to a campground few got to enjoy as the trip to it takes a good vehicle and better driver.
A naturalist met us there and spoke for about 35 minutes and we brought them back down.
I checked out to sit by my camper in the middle of wide open expanse with no one in site, and as I was enjoying this solitude, CJ calls and we joke and laugh for a close to an hour.
good time, good place
