Waggy's are all full width & have 6 lug hubs.
As far as Scout axles are concerned early 74' Scout II's did not have disc brakes as standard equipment.
They were an option.
From late 74' to 80' (81' model year) Disc brakes were standard equipment.
Scout II's all have the 5 on 51/2" bolt circle hubs.

Waggies came with both narrow trak and wide trak, the narrow traks are around 59" in the rear and 61" in the front. The wide traks are full width app. 63 & 65". you want some from the 70's before they went to the driverside drop. But as longhorn said they are 6 lug.

Whoops my bad.

also you would need to cut down a waggy front or out board it. I think its only a 4"difference over a CJ wide track

79 Waggy shortened 4" passenger side. resplined or new. Works great.

I'm using Toyota ales from a 87 FJ62 Land cruiser. They are 60" front and 58" rear. They are pass drop f/r so they will work with a dana 18. You will need to move your spring mounts out about 2 inches from the frame if you want to use the fj spring mounts on the axles. You can install a set of long field shafts and run 38's without issue. You can run these all day with 33's in stock form.
Side by side you will have a lot more money/Fabrication into a set of Dana 44 that will take the same abuse as a set of lightly built fj62's.
They have a good amount of aftermarket support for things like bolt on disk breaks, hubs, and the shafts I mentioned above.

A Jota? Toyeep?

I like Dana's. A Waggy will get you disks too. F150 hubs for a 5x5-1/2.

Respline the axle -$140.

I understand the steering issues. There are articles on upgrading to a Saginaw steering box like the 72 and up CJs.

Pics would help us see exactly what the issues are. :D
