Hi,

I'm looking into new seats for my CJ7 . I want to keep the factory style but get new ones. Does anybody have an opinion between Bestop and Smittybilt? I'm looking for something water resistant and durable.

Thanks!

Not direct experience but:

Smittybuilt is now a company that basically makes cheap knock-offs of its own products. They are now owned by Transamerican and their specialty is buying reputable companies for their name and cheapining the products.

A comfortable ride is nice as you get older, and you get what you pay for. I went with the Bestop Trail Max II with good results. One problem with them is that they will put you up higher in the cab probably due to more padding. I compensated for that somewhat by removing the slider since I am 6' tall. It does help with seeing over the longer hoods on the later model CJs though.

I have the Bestop trail max 2 also and love them.

I don't know anybody with either, but I would go with the bestop as smittybuilt tends to be cheap china stuff. Just my 2 cents.
I have Corbeau's and love them.

We sat in them all before we bought our Corbeaus. They aren't even out of the box yet but were the best just sitting on the floor by far.
