Hey guys, i just read a blog about someone having trouble with their '76 cj blower motor. Thats what i have. I'm a new member to this site so sorry if i'm beating a dead horse. Question: why cant i use a same size but newer blower motor, 3 speed and only use two of the three wires for the different speeds? Low/
Medium or medium/high? If it runs backwards just wire it bacwards so it will run forward and if it has a shaft sticking out of the back why can't it be cut off and covered? If the shaft on the front fan side is too long. Cut it down and creat a new flat spot for the fan???? Theoretically this should work right. Thanks for any information and ideas.

I call the process kit bashing

and it is a skill we need to develop as parts keep getting rarer ans rarer and a lot of times we are adapting parts as the OEM is no longer available.

I would think guys like Seyit would be the Kings of the Hill at adapting parts being where he is and the economic woes he has described.

anyway, that is a good link and if you tackle the project, take many pics and do a write up so we can add it to the tech section.

Hey fullers, thanks for the input. I think i found a couple of motors that are heat/ ac motors. I'll just tie up the a/c side wires and wring out the other 3 wires for a low/ high or medium /high running configuration. I'll post my findings / doings in the tech. Section with pictures and as detailed as possible constructions in a couple of weeks. If i can figure out how to add pictures to a post.
