I have had a set of axles built with disk brakes and am wondering what master cylinder to use. Will the stock CJ7 work? What about a proportioning valve? Some have said that you don't need one but is this indeed true? Thanks for all of your help and I will be seting up some pictures of the build soon.

I used a 78CJ disk master cylinder with a Summit proportioning valve

You can really fine tune it. Worth the extra time and money.
:D

Thanks for your input, I think your saying that my original master cylinder should work fine with a after market proportioning valve. Thanks again!

If you use the stock master cylinder you need to pull the rear brake tube seat and take out the check valve that is used for drum brakes. Not needed for disc brakes.
