I have been reading that a breaking in a new camshaft is critical. You must lubricate the lobs with a special lubricant and ensure your RPM does not go below 1500 for 20 minutes. I was watching a young fellow install a Comp cam in a chevy truck on U-tube. He didn't use any lubricant on the cam and was idling it up and down. So is it that critical to break in a new cam?? Or will he suffer an early failure?
