Carburetor Adapter

Aloha All,

I'm buying a new carburetor for my 72 CJ5 with the AMC 304 .

Pretty sure I've decided on the Holly Truck Avenger 470 cfm, but I know it doesn't fit directly onto my vehicle.

What adapter plate should I be using? Having a bit of trouble finding one so any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Excellent choice for a carburetor. The Holley Truck Avenger is arguably the best off-road carburetor out there.
Now how to mount it on your jeep. Your AMC 304 came with a 2 barrel carburetor. While they do make adapters to bolt a 4 barrel carburetor onto a 2 barrel intake. Don't go that route. I would recommend getting a new intake manifold.

Edelbrock 3731 - Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifolds - Overview - SummitRacing.com
Both of these will run good off-road and on. They both work at idle up to 5500 rpm.

im with them. get a new intake. between the carb and intake it will work alot better.

The difference between these two is 3731 is for use with EGR. 2131 is for non-EGR.
