who makes this thing? I first saw it on the yellow CJ7 for sale on craigslist when I was looking for a CJ7 to buy. I thought it was custom until I saw the same bumper on another jeep.
I almost like it..

It not only protects you if you run into things but it also looks like it it was made to protect you from things falling from the sky. Not sure why you need to protect the top of the hood.
Looks very heavy but how does it attach? To open the hood it must pivot at the bumper. I guess the thought was to protect the hood during a rollover. I would think a tubular grill guard would work just as well. Either way your hood will get damaged. I can't imagine the pivot point on this thing can hold up to much pressure over the hood such as a rollover. Cantilever, no support near the windshield?

That's pretty crazy stuff right there. It looks more like something a mall crawler looking for the newest coolest bad <-BAD WORD-> looking bolt on would lust after. Not sure It really fits a real world application though....

I bet it cost about $1000.00 for it, all of that tubing and welding and just think about nobody can get under the hood to steal stuff unless they know the secret code to open it up.

However, a place called ranchhand makes some kickass bumpers that are no kidding tough work bumpers. Something like this would look kickass on your truck

The guy who i bought my jeep from makes custom bumpers, Ive pondered having him make one for 2000 GMC but i have to fix the very last few problems with it like the middle console and 02 sensors and put my 2 1/2 inch level kit on it with adjustable shocks. But he makes his custom to your order so i could have him fab me up a Trail Armor look a like bumper but probably stronger and a hell of a lot cheaper then 2500.
