First let me say Hello, this is my first thread on this forum. I just bought back my old CJ that I owned for 20 years from the guy I sold it to, 12 years ago. Now I am going to give it a body-off resto for the forth time in it's life.

I have one quick question for now. Can any one tell me which models of jeep hard doors will fit the CJ. I will be using the hard top from time to time but the doors were left on a dirt, barn floor for the last 12 years and have a lot of serious rust on them:mad:.

Thanks,

Any door from 76 on will fit. But they switched from lever latches to paddle latches in 81. Also any Wrangler door from 87 to 95 will also fit a Jeep.

I have a 1984 CJ7 with Acme hard top. The outside handles are not paddle, and the latches have the 'fingers' that slam and hook against the stud on the tub.

I'm guessing the replacement doors mentioned in this thread will not fit my Acme?

Thanks.

Thank you and sorry it took me so long to get back to you but I couldn't get logged back on to the site. I tried to get my log in info sent to me but that wouldn't work either so I am now logged on under my new user name.
I thought that was the case with the doors but wanted to make sure.

Post pictures of your door paddles and latches please.

You never mentioned what you had for a "Top" I assume it was an aftermarket steel one since you say the doors were all rusted.........you do need doors from a 76 and later "Anything" to get the correct angle to the windshield , but the hinge arrangements & the filler strips that are required between the windshield and the doors all differ among top manufactures....... So you really need to figure out what Top you have before going on a search.

Not sure if you're looking for period correct doors, but here are the original rotary style doors that have the striker plates which attach the lip of the tub. Newer doors came in the early 80's but had paddle style latches and round striker knobs that screw into the tub.
