So I was changing out the boot on the side of my T-5 and noticed this:

I think I can get another 100,000 miles out of her yet, whacha think?

In any case I ordered a replacement arm and adjuster. Should be here Friday.

There is probably a few more worn out parts in that assembly also. That is a nice pic though.

That's why folks switch over to Heim joint linkage.
Google it up--

Did you check the pivot and its bushings, bell crank too.

I have brazed those in the past.fill up gap and dress down to size. Also used heim joints or clevis rod ends after cutting off bad part and threading. That was on early jeeps when parts weren't readily available.
Thanks to the inter-web you can just replace with new part. Mike:)

I had one like that. Like said earlier, I cut mine, all of them, off, threaded them and installed Heim joints. I did it when it wasn't cool way back in th '80's. Worked great and the clutch was smooth and accurate.

This new one should last me another year or two. When I do the restore I'll look into the heim joint replacement.

The pivot tube that both arms connect to looked good and greased. I'll double check when I get back under there when the new ones arrive.

If the holes are elongated you could braze the holes then drill to original size. Easy fix and will provide a bearing surface to the rod end with a little lube. :) mike

Had the exact same thing. I believe its in my Scrambler thread that I sold to CJ.

Hey, and guess what, there is one at the end of the brake rod too.:D

This a very common problem that I think everybody should check theirs. I bet that alot of you have the same problem and don't know about it. And as stated above it's not just the rods but the holes they go into.
