Misc. Console Pad

Most factory center consoles don't have pads. I think you'd be better off just getting a upholsterer to make one for you out of vinyl. Cheaper too.

I made my console, so nothing OEM there. But for the cover/arm rest I used a piece of 1/4" plywood and some padding from my wife's sewing room (like to stuff a cushion with) and some vinyl I cut from the back of an old car seat at the salvage yard. A little sewing to get the shape and tapers on the edges and miter the corners. Since I lock my pistol in the console at work (can't take it in the office) the console is all welded steel plate, including the locking lid. The top pad (wood, etc) has 4 nutserts in the plywood aligning with 4 holes in the steel lid. Then I have 4 short bolts inserted from under the lid and screwing into the nutserts in the plywood. Even if someone pried off the plywood and cushion, they would then be faced with a locked steel lid to contend with.
