My Dana 300 shift linkage rattles so I thought I would replace the damper at the bottom of the linkage. My. question is do I have to remove the Dana 300 to take apart the shift linkage? I assume I would but I thought I would ask those of you who have more experience. Thanks in advance.

You can get to it by taking the tunnel cover off, no need in dropping the t/c.

Cool, that would be much easier. I should have thought of that. Thanks
