So I know I'm kind of dumb for not marking what wires went to where    but hey I'm still new to this and had enough fun getting the dash off of the jeep, so with that being said does anyone have an AWESOME Wiring Diagram cause well I'm not an electrician and have a horrible time figuring out what goes where when half the wires were not hooked up in the first place...:censored:  what a mess...but maybe just maybe you guys that know the in's and out's of these things can show me a thing or two about these wires :notworthy: oh and I really don't want to drop $400.00 for a wiring harness I know it would make things so much easier but what fun would that be....I do have insurance for a reason. Oh and is this a vent and were they in the 75 cj's?

Heres another pic of my dash I did some editing on what I thought most of the holes are in it because under the diamond plate there were a couple more holes....

Well there's no wiring fairy that's gonna stop by your place.

There's no way but to go plug by plug off the factory wiring diagram. The speedo cluster can get a bit crazy.

I usually pull the dash with the wiring harness disconnected at the engine wall. Can't stand on my head like I used to. :D Then you can work on it on a bench powering up the circuits as you go.

Haha well hopefully by the time i'm done with my dash I will have enough knowledge to take out my seats before even attempting to plug everything back up. :D So where exactly would a guy be able to get one of these plug and play diagrams? for a 75 CJ5 ?

Lol, Well looks like I will be grabbing a couple of buddies a 12 pack well maybe a 24 pack of beer and having one hell of a night by the way that looks I guess this could get dangerous lol....Maybe I ought to go ahead and call the insurance company up and warn them haha.

Thanks man Idk if I would have ever found that considering I did look for
awhile. :chug: :notworthy:

khass0410 - Just wondering how the re wire job was going? That's pretty much what mine looked like when I pulled it apart. The wiring under the hood looked worse, so I opted for a new harness.

I noticed no one commented on your question about the vent, so I thought I'd chime in. That is the cold air intake for the heater and it's stock. There is an oval shaped duct that goes from the end that has the flapper down to the top of the heater unit. Then there is a drain hose that comes off the round opening at the bottom and goes out the firewall. On the stock 75's the was a plastic panel mounted on the bottom of the dash for the push-pull cable to operate the flaps in the vent & heater.

Hope that helps, Bill :chug:

I am going to just buy a new harness, also to many wires not going to what I want them too... Kinda blows that there around $380.00 but what can you do besides use the old junker. About the vent I am going to see what all I need to make that functional again it would be def. nice to have heat during the winter other then my feat lol.

I'll post some pix but it might be awhile to many projects at once I guess the further I get into it the more I want to replace or re do lol

:chug:

khass, I am pulling the heater, blower motor, heat exchanger, and all ducting out of my '80 CJ7 . Here on the edge of the Gulf it is so seldom needed that it isn't worth the foot room. Beside that, the AMC304 generates plenty heat.

Check carefully to see (and I don't know the answer) if your model could use the parts, then PM me.

The only time I'll likely miss the heater is coming home wet to the short ribs from wading after flounders at night.

Thanks will do might be a minute though to see what everything is still new to all this and figuring it all out. Flounder WOW!! Sounds great lol

Thanks again. and will let you know.
