Defroster damper

Well, I got the defroster nozzle and duct replaced, then figured out which cable moved when I pulled the defrost knob, and son of a gun, it wasn't hooked to anything. And there was nothing to hook it to. The old Haynes manual has a good exploded view of the components for '82 and a fair one for '81. I'm guessing they should be pretty close. Anyway, any ideas on where to find damper and linkage? I've done the google thing and looked through many pages of parts with no luck so far.

I have no idea where you could find these parts new

I would check the JY's, CL, local 4x4 shops or 4x4 clubs, A lot of people that only use there jeeps off road take the heaters out. You might find an old one you could steal parts from. Or look for someone parting one out.
