84 cj7. 258, header, Weber, new paint, new enterior.
84 CJ7 with AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l / weber. Jeep dies occasionally. starts after a few minutes with some cranking. Nutter bypass is done. Grounding ecm groundwire to firewall done.
New electric fuel pump. Filter. Coil. ECM Checked vapor cannister and ok. Cleaned all ground points under hood and ohmed them out. Pulled fuel tank, replaced sending unit and sock. Tank was clean. At a loss. Any advice?

Sounds like your Ignition Control Module is going bad.

The ECM or ICM, because they are two different parts. The Electronics Control Module (ECM) is the computer in the dash that you bypassed when you did the Nutter Bypass. The Ignition Control Module (ICM) is the silver module on the drivers side fenderwell inside the engine bay, looks like this;

Okey dokie. The ICM is the one I replaced then. They are cheap enough so will try another one.

Let us know if that fixes it. If it does, awesome. If it doesn't, we'll help you figure it out.
