Is there a difference between a distributor check valve and a vacuum check valve? I ask because I ordered a distributor check valve from carparts online and I received a vacuum check valve.

I know the originals look different and actually say "dist" or "vac" on them...the one I received is smaller than the original also.

Any thoughts/advice?

Oops, almost forgot: 1984 Jeep CJ7 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l i6

Thanks...

Their both check valves and should work. All it does is keep the flow going in one direction.

Looking at the fsm for my '86, there is a vacumn reservoir w/check valve in the system, plus a few other check valves and reservoirs. The later CJs do have quite a complex emissions system and making sure everything is working right can be a challenge. There is a guy on the net who does explain it all, maybe somebody has a link to it. Here it is and I see a few others also:http://home.sprynet.com/~dale02/home.htm
