Door pains

Anyone else have trouble getting there full doors to close right? I took mine apart to paint them and I cant seem to get them to close right there either really tight to close then when you pull the handle they spring open or they wont hit the striker! Really got me at my wits end! Just venting......

Did you take the hinges off to paint? I hate messing with that adjustment. Always a pain in the rear to get to align right afterward.

Yes took the hinges off and added new rubber weather seal around the door and it's just not as good as it was before. They use to close and open nicely now its all messed up!!

when you take everything apart and add new seals you have to reset everything and it does not help that the door is heavy as all get out. When I had hard doors I had to reset the hinges after I removed them for paint work. sounds like you need to adjust your door striker as well. I saw one guy use a piece of all thread to get his hinge mounts on the body even and went from there to get the door hinges set right I think after that you set the striker.

There are shims in the door post attached to the body as well. My door was giving me trouble and I noticed one of the shims had dropped out. It wouldn't latch or close properly. Reshimmmed and it helped tremendously.
