I just noticed that my ECM seems to be dripping the yellowing sealing material from the backside of the unit. Is this something to worry about? I believe this is an original motorcraft ECM. Jeep was parked in the garage for most of the Arizona summer and I wonder if it was too hot in garage.

could be getting hot, and more likely its getting hot while running from electrical spikes could be a sign that it is getting close to dieing or the alternator regulator is starting to go out. My Dodge did the same thing for awhile before the alternator went out

I'm pretty sure you are talking about the ignition control module, located on the left fender. You will be getting some ignition misfire, which will get worse.
