I have an 88 YJ with the stock intake and an MC2100 carb. In photos of this swap, it appears that some have removed the EGR valve and blanked off the port (maybe because they've gone FI?). If this works, great, but I'm concerned about detonation, so I'd prefer to leave it installed/functioning unless pinging/knocking is not an issue with the 4.0 head and carb combination.
Question is: will the EGR pipe between the exhaust header and intake manifold connect directly in the new configuration of different exhaust manifold and now slightly different spacing between the two manifolds? If not, can an EGR pipe from a 4.0 be used?
