My winter project is the paint the frame and under body of my CJ7 . I would love to do a frame off, but don't have the space, time or money right now. Can anybody recommend a good product to use to to help preserve my frame and body which is in good shape other than some minor spot rust which is standard for the age. I have sealed the bottom of the tub with automotive sealer by Dominion. I have used Por 15 and Rhino lined the inside tub with great results this last spring. Any advice with treating underneath the tub and frame is appreciated.

Brian :chug:

i will be using rubberized undercoating on the underside of my jeep as for te frame eastwood makes a product in an aerosol can to spray the inside with. as for the frame itself, if you don't want to do alot of work sanding it down i would use por-15 as it is designed to be applied right over rust and that is how it works best

Thanks, I am a big fan of POR 15, used it on my tub and then rhino lined it, turned out really. I used Dominion Auto Seal (Canada) product to seal any seams in the tub. Sounds like POR 15 the frame and rubberized undercoating spray for underneath the tub is the way to go.

Thanks, Brian :)

the Landrover Series 2 boys over here use "Wax Oil" stays fluid so any stones et that hit it will not crack the serface and let air in to restart the rusting process.

Onece i get my floor vents :punk: welded up i'll be Oiling Swampy up

I used undercoat on the bottom of my tub. Here's a pic of it yesterday as we were spraying it. It looks sweet now but I don't have any pics since it dried

POR 15 and their Chassis coat is good stuff. Buy the small cans and put nail holes in the rim. When you're done, seal it with Saran Wrap under the lid. But if you don't take it apart and miss areas, those will be the ones to have more rust damage down the road. My attitude if it's worth doing, do it right. Take her apart. . .

Thanks 73 CJ. I totally agree with you. Want to do a frame off but don't have the time, space or money to do it at this time. If I go to that extreme I want to do my v-8 engine and Transmission swap as well.
