Fresh air assmbly jambs.

I read the threads about fresh air intakes and did not find my answer. I im in the rebuild stage of my frame off and this fresh air mechanism is a PIA.

When the spring is on, the rear lever (fresh air at the cowl) raises to high and jamb the forward lever from being able to move. I remove the spring and I can accuate it all be hand but with the cable it stil binds.

I have taken it all apart, de-burred, siliconed, greased, you name it, Still can not pull the cable fully to to work the vent.

Does anyone have a solution, other than tossing it in the trash, to re-engineer this beauty. What a cluster ****. I am considering taking the fresh air out all together if i can seal the cowl or find a ram cowl with a operating vent???

looks like you have the cable aspect taken care is the vent door/flapper jamming up from built up mud and leaves?

Everything is 100% clean and moves freely independently. The two "hockey stick" style levers bind at the center point. Maybe the forward one is stretched out "fat opening" a little. With he spring installed, it rotates clockwise too far and will not let the pin out to pull the inner lever.
