I have an 86 CJ and the front turn signal bulbs don't fit snug into the sockets due to age and rust. Therefore I'm not getting a good connection and the bulbs wiggle lose and won't stay on or function when they are supposed to. NOTE:They work fine if I hold them snuggly in place. I stuffed a small wad of steel wool into the bottom of the socket, which made the bulbs fit snug, but then made the right turn signal come on when I turned on the left turn switch. (Go figure that one out.) Anyway, is there a way I can jerry rig these sockets for a snug fit to the bulbs and keep from buying two new front turn signals? Thanks for your help in advance everyone.

I would think first you should try squeezing them a bit with some pliers for better electrical contact.

Seems like a 12 dollar fix to me if your an amazon prime member. If not just add shipping :)

Amazon.com: Omix-Ada 12401.19 Socket Assembly with Light: Automotive

Although, I would think you could use some foil (individually seperate on each tab) to tighten them up.
I thought of foil today too. I'm going to try that first since I'm operating on a budget. Thanks for the suggestion (It's the front park lights on the grill, not the ones on the fenders, but you are right, if it was that socket you're referring to it'd be a no brainer.)
