Fuel tank
I have a poly tank in my 74 I like the idea of not having a steel tank. One you dont have to worrie about it rusting away. Second if i come off a rock and bend in my skid for my tank its no big deal to pull it off bend it back and i dont lose any capacity because it pops back out. Mine came from Jc whitneys
I've heard (actually heard - not on the interwebs) that the poly tanks "smell" - like, if you leave the Jeep in the garage, it'll smell like gas. Don't know why/how. Myth? BS?
A vote for metal especially if your going with an under seat tank (unlike your 74). Most all poly tanks leak out the neck on inclines when full. The cap never seals tight at least not on my 2a which came with a poly tank when I bought it.
That's good to hear, if you did have an under the seat fuel tank and drove on inclines it would leak out the filler neck.Ive never had any problems with my polly tank in my 74 never has leaked at the leck. or where the fuel sending unit sits in the tank.
