Gear shifter and transfer case knobs

I want to replace the gear shifter and Transfer Case knobs with new ones. How do you remove the old ones? I don't want to tear anything up. Thanks.

I think you rotate them counter clockwise from the top.

you gotta give me one of these every now and then.:laugh:
There should also be a lock nut on the bottom that needs to be rotated clockwise from the top. That is what holds it in the position you want it to be in. after you loosen the lock nut the knob should spin right off.
