1985 CJ-7, soft top, 2 piece doors. 4.2L I6, Dana 30 fr and amc 20 rr, T-5 tranny with Dana 300 t/c
Well, after replacing the inner and outer bearings on front axle, still had a grinding noise, so replaced rear bearings, pinion shaft and bearings, still making same noise. Checked the tranny and found no shavings, nest the T/C and nothing in there. After about $1k spent on parts, I had a brain fart and noticed the tranny mount rubber was gone. Replaced new poly mount($49) and she's purring like a kitten. Lesson learned the hard way!:censored::censored:
