Seems to be a lot of hard top questions lately with winter coming on and all, but Im having a bit of a problem with my bolts..

If anyone's been following my build thread, I am working with a YJ tub for my CJ7 build, and along with the other challenges I've had with this conversion, I set my hard top on last weekend, without a tub seal, and my original bolts are probably 1/2" short. They are 1" bolts. Has anyone else had this issue?? I can get longer bolts, but I thought it was kinda odd...

Is the top from a CJ or YJ? Windshield frame CJ or YJ? When I did mine I used a CJ top with a YJ tub and windshield frame, just had to trim a little so it would fit down around the sport bars

CJ top, CJ windshield, YJ tub. I have a YJ rollbar which has the bars to the windshield frame.. is that the sportbars you're talking about? I haven't installed those yet, and not sure how with out the factory holes and nut plates in the frame.. I'm going to use self tapping screws for the top to the windshield frame.. what did you use?

The self tapping screws should work fine in the windshield. May I suggest an alternative to bolting your top down? I use track cap (or camper shell) clamps.

They're realitively inexpensive, I paid less than $20 for 4 or them, and they work just as good or better than bolts. Plus, they're a whole lot simpler to insatll and uninstall.

Wow, those are a great idea.. i think I will try to find some of those somewhere tomorrow.. Walmart, maybe?? where did you find yours?

A local place that sells truck caps.

I use the same thing. Wal-mart might have them and maybe Harbor Freight.
