Hey guys i am new to this site and i need your advice. I have a 78 CJ7 and i want to install a new cam in the AMC 304 engine and a T-18 Transmission . Do you think this is a good idea or would i be wasting my money . Cj is mostly street driven with light off road use. I hope this is the place to put this see ya

The T-18 would be over kill IMHO for your kind of driving you have no real need for granny low 1st. The cam is a different matter although you may be thinking street cam where I would be thinking more torque.

What Transmission do you have in there now?

For the little driving Ive done you wouldnt use a granny first driving around on the street and 4low is plenty low.

I believe I have a T-15 in mine thats coming out very soon and it is solid.

I say believe because all the info Ive seen says it should be but I haven't been able to find the casting number just yet.
