My heater does not come on when I turn the dial. Once I start driving, it comes on. The connections are good, blower motor new, new wiring. Just am at a loss. Could it be low voltage? The alt is new and battery checks out. I am really stumped!

Could be the swtich itself, they do wear out, the contacts inside may be burnt or just wore. Check the fuse block too, after I did the blazer blower motor install, mine burnt the switch, and the fuse block. I had to put in a new switch, and pull the wire from the fuse block, and put in a inline heavy duty fuse holder, untill I can afford a new harness.

Sounds like a bad connection. I would double check the connection right on the fan motor. It's in the engine compartment below the battery. I had problems with that until I cleaned the connector and used dielectric grease.
You say new wiring. All new harness? If you try wiggling the connections can get affect the fan.

There's also a wire on the inside that connects to a spade directly on the plenum....i think its a ground wire. Make sure this thing has good connection or your fan wont run.

Ok, wiggled all connections, no luck. I guess a switch right? Here is the thing, I just replaced alternator bc of dimming lights. I noticed today that at idle, the lights were dimming with the rotation of the motor.Would this low voltage stop the fan from running?

Btw, ordered the fan upgrade!

Was the switch, jumped a hot lead to the fan. Got a new switch but doesn't match the plug configuration. Ordering another tonight!
