Hi guys. Stupid question for you - I do not run my heater. All controls are off and I think the blower doesn't work anyway (missing at least a wire that runs out of the blower on the engine side of the firewall). But I got home yesterday and was hiding wires under the dash and noticed that the housing to the left of the vent on the passenger side was hot to the touch. Is this normal? Thanks.

If you have the heater hoses hooked up, that is possible. The hot water from the engine circulates through the heater core regardless of where the heater controls are set.

You can stop that by putting a heater cut off valve in the inlet hose for the heater core there are a bunch of vehicles out there to grab one from and the older ones where cable operated

Thanks again CJ and Gert. Maybe nothing is wrong. I'd rarely use the heater but just as soon it work...I'll tackle the blower later. Thanks again.
