My daily driver is a 1996 Jeep cherokee sport, She was my first car and I cant bring myself to get rid of her. my project (along with my best friends) is a 1978 CJ7 T150/D20.
my first post! :) This forum has helped alot so far with the switch of our 78 CJ7 to a 3speed but i cant seem to find any one/any thing that fully addresses or explains how to fix my problem and im running out of ideas and sanity. My brake lights wont work! The running lights work, and the turn signals work sometimes but when the right turn signal is on, the left running light goes completely out unless you wiggle the turn signal switch. but if you turn the left turn signal on the right running light is fine. the other day the right brake turned on when you pressed the pedal, but the next time we tried, nothing again. We have checked all the fuses and they seem to all be good, we changed the turn signal switch in the steering column, and checked all the bulbs, the brake switch is good, still no brakes! I think its probably a bad wiring somewhere but i have no idea where to even begin, electrical is way over my head. Any suggestions on where to look for the problem? or any ideas at all what this could be?

I had issuses with my tail lights, too. Look up under the left rear corner, all the wiring to the rear lights run together there then split to go to the right side. Check for loose or broken wires at all the connections. The next place is in the lights. Could be loose or broken wires going to bulb socket or the socket it self. Check the ground wires and were they are attached to the body or frame. Just trace one wire at a time, they should be color coated. It's not that hard, take your time.
