To pull out the coupling Between the steering gear box and column. What is the best way to remove and replace. After the locking bolt is removed will they slide of the shaft? Can the bushing at the end of the coulmn be changed?

It`s really a bearing, that`s held in with a locking clip. But it`s not cheap, about $40. I just grease soaked a rag and shoved it up in there, around the steering shaft. It`s been in there for about two years. The column does`nt wobble or shake.

I think driver007 is talking about the lower steering shaft coupler.

Yes all the coupler and shaft and the bearing also. Never done this job before just making sure I do not messit up. Abuddy told me to switch out to a borgeson what do you boys think good or bad?

I've got a Flaming River column and shaft. I can only say good things about them. Borgenson is similar stuff. All good. I used to trash the lower joint every couple years. Not any more. . .
